Happy Friday Ladies,
First of all girls..... LOOK AT THESE WINNERS!!!! Can you believe how amazing Natalia and Marta have done! I couldn't pick anyone else! A very special prize is on the way to this family! Oh what a day it has been.... we have had a disaster in school with the internet going down in half the rooms including my office! I have been moving from room to room trying to get my work done- I think Mrs Durnin thinks I've lost the plot altogether!. My very last challenge is going to be a really easy fun challenge. I want you to draw a picture of someone from the school who you can't wait to see again in 2020. It might be your friend, a teacher, an SNA, Mrs Durnin, Jackie or even one our visitors like Jules, Gerry or Katie. I can't wait to see them! Slán Ms. Greene Well happy Tuesday ladies!
I'm sitting here in my office thinking about you all and wishing you were here. Myself and Mrs Durnin are working away with all the usual school business and trying to put some plans into place for September. We had hoped that there was going to be a set of guidelines given to schools on Friday by the Minister for Education, but unfortunately that didn't happen. I have no idea when we will get the guidelines, so until then we will just have to work and plan as best we can. All of the staff are going to come in tomorrow and try to get a few things organised for next year, but we really are a little bit stuck in terms of how much we can plan. We will do our best and see what happens over the summer! Fingers crossed we will be able to open up in August for as many children as possible. I hope you are all keeping well and doing a bit of schoolwork every day. I know it can be very hard to get motivated, because we have been away from each other for over three months, but please try and do a little bit of English, Irish and Maths especially. I had a lovely weekend visiting my family for my Mam's birthday- I'm still not used to the fact that we can't hug each other... but hopefully if we keep up with all the restrictions for the next few weeks, that might change. Ok girls, I've work to do here! Slán, Ms Greene Hello again ladies,
I've been a bit quiet on here this week because we are so busy in the office every day, but don't worry I'm thinking about you more than ever. The school is very quiet without you all. The corridors are empty and I really miss the sound of your voices and laughter around the grounds. There are lots of things happening in the school as well. I'm waiting to hear what all these guidelines about the reopening say this evening, but there are lots of plumbing, painting and repair works planned for the summer months. Thank you SO much for all your entries into the Communion competition- you all did so well! You definitely know your teachers very well! So the winners of the Communion competition are...... in 2nd Class- JULIA JENDRULOCK- she got them ALL correct 13 out of 13!!! WOW! Amazing Julia! And we had a draw for the other years- well done to Ava and Caitlin Murphy and Áine Owens who both guessed 10 out of 13 correctly! Your prizes re in the post girls! Well done to everyone who entered! Here are the answers: 1. Ms King 2. Ms Fitzpatrick 3. Ms Farrell 4. Ms Cassidy 5. Ms Smith 6. Ms Greene 7. Ms O Dea 8. Ms Behan 9. Ms Crowe 10. Ms Thomas 11. Ms Holden 12. Ms Callinan 13. Ms Farrell I'll have this weekend's challenge ready soon! Slán, Ms Greene Well girls did you think I had disappeared?!?!
Don't worry girls, I'm still here and fighting fit! I have had a very busy few days getting settled back into the office in school. Myself and Mrs Durnin were finding it far too stressful working from home, and so when the regulations changed on Monday, we decided to move back in to school. I have to say it has been so much easier to work together in the office again, instead of the panic stations that were happening every day working from home. The other exciting thing that has happened is that I have been able to see my family for the first time since March!!! They all live outside my 5km, so I was counting down the days until I could see them all again. I was able to pop over to my Mam and my brother and sister and their families, so I got to see all my nieces and nephews! Now it was very strange not being able to hug anybody, but at least I got to spend time with them. It has happened just in time to celebrate my Mam's birthday this Sunday too! We are very busy working on school reports here, so I'm going to have to get back to work here! I hope you are all enjoying your Zoom calls with your teachers! It was great to see all of you over the last few weeks and I'll be organising another assembly with you all soon. Stay safe and don't forget to keep washing your hands. Slán, Ms Greene Good morning all!
Well it has been another busy week for us all between Zoom calls with classes, phone calls to families and getting school reports prepared, along with all the usual business. We will all take a break over the weekend and refresh ourselves ready for another week of work next week. I will be thinking especially of our 2nd Class girls this weekend, because they were supposed to be celebrating their Communion on Sunday, and as you all know it has unfortunately been postponed. Fr Frank will be saying a very special Mass on Sunday that you can watch live on the webcam at 10am- olv.ie/webcam/. He will be giving you a special mention and saying a prayer for you all. I also have a very special challenge for you this weekend! And I have two prizes- one is just for the 2nd class girls and the other is for a winner from 3rd to 6th class. The prize for 2nd class is a COMMUNION CAKE on the day you make your Communion, gratefully sponsored by Orla Quinlan, mammy of Sadhbh, or if you are not making your Communion she will make you a cake for another celebration! And my prize for 3rd to 6th classes is THREE homework passes for next year, yes THREE! The only rule is you can't use them all in the same week. So what so you have to do......well you have to play GUESS WHO? Look at these Communion pictures and see if you can figure out who is who- there are 13 pictures altogether, but I have given you 14 names to make it even harder. The staff are playing along too! So here you go girls.... check out the style! What's App your answers to 0861805158 or email victories,[email protected]. Have fun everyone, Slán, Ms Greene Guess Who??? Click on the pictures for numbers 1-13 Ms Behan Ms Farrell-McCabe Ms Fitzpatrick Ms Greene Ms Smith Ms Thomas Ms Haughton Ms Crowe Ms O Dea Ms Farrell Ms King Ms Callinan Ms Holden Ms Cassidy Good morning ladies,
The sun seems to have disappeared over the last few days and I'm back in my jeans for now. Fingers crossed the good weather is only around the corner, and you'll all be playing in those pools I'm hearing about again in no time! I want to say a big thank you to you all for supporting our wonderful Ms Durnin and her family. Niall's sister got in touch with me to say his family have been moved to tears by the donations you made and the pictures that you posted to show your support for him. She said that she could tell what a great community we are, and she is so thankful for all the support for Ms Durnin over the last few months and in the future. I told her not to worry, that the OLV Community is like no other, and we'll be there to help Ms Durnin and Niall any way we can. Well done to all the families who took part in the walk- here are some of the photos we were sent in to us on the phone and via Ms Thomas' HSCL Facebook page. I had to put all the names in a hat...... and the winner of the €20 McDonald's voucher is...... the Scott family!!!!! So coming for you tomorrow is the BEST CHALLENGE EVER. Now I know I said that about the last one that involved the staff- but this one is even better, I promise! Slán, Ms Greene |
