On June 25th our graduation took place for our wonderful 6th class girls. We looked back on their time in O.L.V. and wished them well as they prepare for their transition to secondary school and embark on this new and exciting chapter in their lives.
The girls took a visit to Santa's grotto where they received two lovely presents of a selection box and a Christmas annual. We took these back to the classroom where they enjoyed eating some chocolate while doing a few of the many fun activities inside of their annuals. A big thanks to everyone involved in making this such an enjoyable day! Happy holidays everybody!!
Well the 26th of June has arrived! What an extraordinary school year this was.I think we used the word "unprecedented" back in March on the day we all left OLV so suddenly...not thinking that we would still be closed in June! We all genuinely felt it was just for a few weeks. Here we are now. The day of the summer holidays!! It's all definitely an event for the history books of the future. We could all write our own experience of the last three and a half months (goodness it's feels much longer than that)and compile our own hisSTORY book!! I wish you and your families a lovely holiday. You have worked so hard you deserve a break from all the school work. 'Looking forward to seeing you all later this morning on Zoom. I especially look forward you seeing you in person in SIXTH CLASS!! Happy Holidays each and everyone of you, Ms.Bourke Message from Ms O'Dea Good morning girls, It is hard to believe that today is your last day of 5th class. What a different 5th class experience you have had. Little did we know, on the 12th of March that this would be your last day in school until you were in 6th class. Girls, I can't emphasis how proud I am of you all. Each one of you has done your best, working so hard under the strangest of circumstances. These life skills will help you so much when you start in secondary school. I hope you are proud of yourselves. Also your parents are owed a big THANK YOU. They have stepped in as teacher, when we couldn't be together in the classroom. They have answered your questions, encouraged you and supported you. I would like to say a big thank you to each of your parents for their support and help this year. I also want to say a big thank you to Ms Crowe, who looks after us all so well. She brings such positivity to room 4 and always makes sure that we are all doing ok. So girls it has been a privilege to teach you this year. Your hard work, enthusiasm and sense of fun have made my job so much enjoyable. There are lots of memories that we have shared in our short year together, Christmas play, Molli, Fighting Words and lots more. These are memories that we will treasure. Enjoy your well deserved summer holidays. Remember to be safe, think of your social distancing. Hopefully I will see you all later. Take care Ms O'Dea Good morning girls!!
It's Summer Holiday Eve today!! A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to you for all your hard work during The Closure, I am so proud of you all. Also a big THANK YOU to all your parents who home schooled you during this time. Just remember when you finally put those books away to so so carefully. We know some of them might not be in great condition as you were using them everyday at home. So please don't worry about that! This was an exceptional time. But we will take any that are in good condition to rent out again in September. I went up to the school for the 6th class graduation yesterday. They all got so tall!! It was great to see them but sad too to say goodbye. We wish them every success in the coming years. I look forward to seeing you all for our final Zoom tomorrow. Ms Greene will be hosting it. I know how lucky the school is to have a wonderful group of girls who are going to set such a wonderful example to the younger classes. I may see you later as I am going up to school to do the food parcels. Take care, Ms O'Dea Ps girls don't forget Zoom chat tomorrow! I was in school all day yesterday ..again it was like a workout ALL DAY!!!. I went to bed early last night!! We were getting rid of old furniture and electrical items..running here and there and filling the skip outside. We all looked a little with our face masks and socially distancing at the same time! I better go girls,as I am back up in school today. Take care, Ms O'Dea Good Morning Girls!
I think we are in for some damp and muggy weather in this last week of the school term! However I have no doubt that we will have some lovely sunny weather over the summer holidays. As Dublin begins to open up again there will be more activities for you to enjoy too. It will be like coming out of hibernation!! I am heading up to the school this morning again with some of the teachers. We are continuing to prepare the school for our return in September. It's a busy time in OLV....in a strange sort of way! As always contact me on the blog or by email if you have any issues you need support in.Enjoy today's activity and checkout the wellbeing activity too. Ms. Bourke Message from Ms O'Dea Morning girls, I hope you are all well! Only 3 1/2 days left in school, can you believe it. Hopefully you are getting on well with your work. As we talked about on the Zoom call last week, you should have all the EIP and MM answers now on the website. I am heading in to school today, so if I don't get back to your comment straightaway I'll get back to you later. Have a lovely day and stay safe, Ms O'Dea Good Morning Girls!!
I hope you had a relaxing weekend, Well this is the last Monday of the last week in school! Isn't that just great news! So just a few more days of schoolwork...and daily activities(which are really good fun!) Have a look at the wellbeing post today. I remembered a poem on kindness. It reminded me how simple it is to be kind and how much it means to others..and indeed myself! So I posted it as the activity for today. Imagine if we all remembered to be kind every day! What a wonderful world that would be. And costs nothing to be kind...it's FREE!! Enjoy today, Ms Bourke Message from Ms O'Dea Good morning girls! Hopefully you had a relaxing weekend and got to get outside and get some lovely fresh air! How are you this morning? I can't believe it is the last week of school. I always love this week in school. The fun things that we get to do, such as going to the park, school tours, doing art. It will just make next year even more special! Ms Bourke and Ms Cassidy have set some lovely work for today, so make sure that you check them out. Take care Ms O'Dea Good morning girls, Well it was just lovely seeing you girls yesterday. You are all looking so grown up and mature and ready to be the most senior girls in the school!! Remember next week we will be having our very last Zoom on Friday as it is the last day of school. It would be great if all the girls in the class were on the call. Also the answers to all the weeks you have covered in EIP and MM are now up, so I won't be posting any more pictures of the answers. It's hard to believe that this day next week you will be getting your summer holidays! You really have been working so hard and you should all be so proud of yourselves. You've also made it to Friday, the weather for the weekend is looking a bit wet, but make sure that in between showers you get out for some fresh air. Take care girls and have a lovely weekend, Ms O'Dea Hello Girls! Wasn't it fun to meet up yesterday for a Zoom chat! As Ms. O Dea mentions it is our last Zoom for this school year on Friday. Girls we can't let you join on the morning unless you have signed the contract..you can find it on the school website. Scroll down under School Closure.. Even if your friend gives you the password, if you are not on our list we simply can't allow you to attend. So make a special effort to attend next Friday..Ms. Greene is hosting it! I am heading in to the school again this morning..so I will have that Friday Feeling later this afternoon! I won't be doing any socially distancing entertaining in the garden this weekend,it's looking like a wet few days ahead of us. But I got my bike fixed and I will put on my wet gear and head out to Howth for a cycle! Enjoy the weekend, Ms. Bourke |
