    Message from Ms O'Dea
How are you this morning? I'm not liking this weather. Hopefully you will get out between the rain. It was great to hear from some of girls to let us know  how you are getting on. We are having a Zoom meeting this morning to plan for the next week or so, so if anyone hasn't got back to us please let us know, Room 4, I'm looking at you!!
You're doing  a great job at log in every day, so keep it up and hopefully 5th class can win tomorrow! You know how competitive Ms Bourke is!!

    Stay safe
    Ms O'Dea
    Message from Ms Bourke
Good Morning girls! Well I heard so much news yesterday on the blog about girls out walking, and running and practising their GAA skills that I was inspired. So at 7.00am,in the lashing rain  (and before I could change my mind)  I jumped out of bed, put on my rain gear and went for a rather wet walk. I saw lots of snails with their houses on their backs on the footpaths. They love to travel in wet weather it seems. So thank you everybody for sharing your active lives with us. An inspiration! Now I'm going to chat with Ms O Dea and boast about being out and about so early!!

Keep up the great work, and sign in today!

Good morning girls,

Well our school is famous!! Did you all see Ms Greene on the tv last night? Wasn't she amazing! If you missed it you could watch it on RTE Player.

So how are you all doing? Myself and Ms Bourke are here having a virtual meeting. Every morning we 'meet' at 8:30 to plan. At the moment we are looking at planning for the next while. Thank you to the girls that have let us know how they are getting on with their work. We would love to hear more from you,  so could you please tell us
  • one thing you enjoy doing
  • one thing you find challenging

News from Ms Bourke
So yesterday I cut my fringe. It's a very interesting look! I now have three colours in my hair, blonde highlights, red undertones and mousy brown roots showing through. Remember we asked you to create a box to include all the things that you would like to do when things return to normal. I WANT TO GO TO THE HAIRDRESSER!!

News from Ms O'Dea
Well girls I'm really missing pizza, so yesterday I decided to make homemade pizza and it was delicious! I will post a picture at the bottom of the page. We are doing really well at signing in each day, so keep up the fantastic work girls!!

Good morning girls!

What a lovely morning it is out there, we are so lucky with the lovely weather! Though I hear the rain is on the way so try and get some fresh air before that.

How are you girls getting on with your work? We would love to hear how are you finding it? Remember all we expect of you is to try your best, so please do not put yourself under pressure. Myself and Ms Bourke have a chat every morning and would love to hear how you are getting on, what work you have enjoyed doing and what you found too easy or too hard. Is there anything that you would like to learn about? Please let us know.

Take care girls

And don't forget to log in daily, we want to win the attendance award!!

Ms Bourke & Ms O'Dea

Good morning

Good morning from Ms Bourke! Just a reminder girls that we have an attendance award on Friday...spread the news...you know how I feel about winning that! Thank you to the girls who shared where they were exercising, It  was so interesting to hear what you are doing within the 2km.The rain is coming so make sure you get out today and let me know what you got up to!
 Good morning girls

We hope you had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the sunshine. Ms Bourke made banana bread this weekend, and ate the whole thing in two days.  Ms O'Dea went for a cycle within her 2 km radius, and saw lots of new things she had never noticed before. Where are you girls going for exercise? Could you let us know what you have enjoyed baking?

Jackie will announce best class attendance on Friday, so we need you girls to login to the website and sign in every day. Let your friends know about this and hopefully we will win this weeks best attendance. If you are having any difficulties please let us know.

We are really looking forward to hearing from you all, and please let us know how you are getting on.

Stay safe,

Ms Bourke and Ms O'Dea

Welcome back!

20/4/2020

Welcome back girls!

How we wish we were back in room 4 & 9 and seeing you lovely girls. We hope you all had a nice break and didn't eat too much chocolate!!

So this morning your work for the next two weeks was put up on the website. Hopefully you have all had a look at it. One of the things that might help you organise your work, is if you write down each morning in your journal the work you are hoping to get done. And then tick it off when you complete it. I've written out a sample for today's work.

Maths -  tables x2 and ÷2, MM, BaM P2 Q 1-8
Gaeilge - Duolingo
English - EIP, Better English P.60 plan
Read at Home P 37
Spellings: mixture, gesture, nurture, culture, venture
PE - Joe Wicks
History - Diary

You don't have to do this but it might help you to organise your work. Also look at the timetable we prepared together to help you with your work also.

Let us know how you are getting on and stay in touch.

Stay safe,

Ms Bourke & Ms O'Dea

Happy Easter! Caisc Shona Daoibh!

3/4/2020

Hi girls,

We hope you are keeping well and that you are staying safe. We are so proud of your hard word over the last three weeks. We know it hasn't been easy.

So today we should have been getting our Easter Holidays. So for the next two weeks we are not setting any school work. This is a time for you to relax and take it easy. However we know that you may be a little bored as you can't meet your friends or go out and about as you usually would. So girls get involved in the challenges Ms Greene sets. Make sure you read every day (I am re reading Harry Potter!) it really is great for the mind. Make sure you get some exercise every day, whether it is going for a walk (making sure you follow the physical distancing guidelines) or doing one of the Joe Wicks exercise classes. And try to limit your screen time. All these things will really help you.

There are lots of arts and craft activities that you can find on line. Also check out the 'Online Resources' tab on the school website. In the 'Maths Resources' there is a padlet with ideas for 5th and 6th class, where you can find apps and games. They are not just maths ideas but also science, coding and art.  There are also other brilliant ideas, that don't all involve screen time, which can be found in the 'English Resources' section.

Girls your main job also is to help out at home. Whether that is doing the wash up, or reading to a little brother or sister, You are great helpers in school so be a great helper at home.

We are both really missing the girls in room 4 and room 9 and are really looking forward to hopefully seeing you soon, for a great chat and catch up. We love when you leave us messages so stay in touch.

Now mind yourself and stay safe,
Ms O'Dea & Ms Bourke
