Good morning ladies!
Happy Friday and more importantly, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! We made it! Well done to you all! So we have reached the end of 2nd class and it was Ms. Callinan’s and Ms. Holden’s pleasure to teach you all this past year! It was lovely getting to know you all and we had great fun. Do you remember our trip to the Botanic Gardens? What about Hallowe’en dress-up? The fun we had during the Christmas show! And those wonderful Interest Talks on the Marrogs! What is your favourite memory? You are a FANTASTIC bunch of girls and we wish you continued success! We also wish you a very happy, healthy, safe, sunny summer! Have a good rest and mind yourselves and each other. We look forward to seeing you all this September hopefully and hearing all your news! We may even need to wear our high heels as no doubt you have grown taller than us!! ; ) ‘Our Summer timetable’ : We hope you get to read some new interesting books this summer or you might even spend some time reading old favourites – a nice way to pass away a wet afternoon! Keep your maths eyes open and who knows what you might see in the summer environment! Read over (or you might have learnt them off by heart already! ) your Communion prayers and ‘Our Father’ prayer - everyday if you can ! We hope the sun shines often so that you can get out and play safely as much as you can – enjoy your skateboarding, cycling, rollerblading, scooting, swimming!! And as Ms. Greene said, don’t forget to put your books away in a special place as you will need them when we return to school in September to do some revision! So it’s bye for now ladies! Happy Wednesday! The last ‘hump day’ of second class! It is a very special last day for all of the wonderful girls in our 6th classes who graduate from OLV today and transition into their new secondary schools. We didn’t expect that they would leave our school under these circumstances but what we can be very sure of is that Ms. Greene, Ms. Cassidy and Ms. Farrell are making it as special an event as they can for them. Some of you even have big sisters in these classes so it’s a very special day for you too and your families! We are thinking of you all today and sending our very best wishes even though we can’t be there today. Ms. Callinan and Ms. Holden will share a few fond memories and giggles today as we remember their first day and their first year in 2nd class when Ms. Callinan taught them in room 2 and Ms. Ferriter in room 4. Ms. Holden did Power Hour and maths classes with both classes! How quickly the time passes girls! So, all the best to our wonderful 6th class girls today! Now we are asking you to do a little extra this week in terms of preparing for your First Holy Communion, which we now know the date of - yippee!! Yesterday, you would have read the ‘Prayer before Communion’ and today you will see half of the ‘Prayer after Communion’ (the rest you will see tomorrow). You might like to write these down, print them out, google them – whatever suits you! We would ask that you would read over them everyday between now and your Communion Day ( before you get up in the morning / as part of morning / bedtime prayers).
