WHO IS IT SUITABLE FOR?
Music is an integral part of our school day here in Our Lady of Victories GNS. With this in mind, it seemed like a natural progression that a school band should develop, tapping into the wealth of musical talent evident in our pupils. This class is suitable for children of all ages from second class up to sixth class. Teaching of the class is tailored according to ability, making sure that everybody can progress and enjoy the music together. The main focus of the class is the effective development of musical and performance skills.
Traditional music offers many opportunities for children, not only to develop a love and understanding of music, but also to engage socially with their peers. Through playing together children not only improve their musical skills, children also develop self-esteem and vital social skills that are so hugely important in their growth .Perhaps most importantly of all, though, being part of this superb musical team will build and reinforce a strong sense of community and pride in all of us – children and adults alike.
