Hello!
We can't believe the time has come for us to be in 6th class, so far our journey is great and we are excited for the year ahead.
We had a new class group this year. It has been really nice to get to know people in sixth class and we thing we're going to work really well together this year. It feels like we've been in the same class all along. We still come together for maths groups or yard time.
So far we have had a lot of fun. Art, drama and Music lessons have been fun and English and Irish classes haven't been too hard (yet!). We're enjoying Maths Groups, there are three groups. These are helpful so girls don't feel left behind.
Up to the Christmas holidays, our class are in charge of the school jobs. We help in the siopa, organise yard games, bímid ag tabhairt amach an báinne agus na torthaí, help Jackie with the Rolla and give out the lunch baskets. It is nice to be able to help out around the school as much as we can.
We would like to welcome Ms Greene, our new principal! Some of us had her in the infants school for three years, so we are so happy to see her again in our school. She has lots planned for us this year and we are enjoying helping her with any jobs around the school.
Secondary school teachers and students have visited us to talk about their schools. We got to ask them questions and hear about what their schools have to offer. Also, we have been to open days for secondary schools which has made us a mixture of nervous and excited for our future and leaving O.L.V.
We are looking forward to our final year in O.L.V.!
