On Tuesday the 20th and Friday the 23rd of June, our Sports Days took place in Albert College Park and our school. The whole of the girls school participated. We had to split it over 2 days because we had to share the premises with the boys and because of weather complications.
On Tuesday, we headed over to Albert College Park for the fun part of Sports Day. There were five activities : the relay race, the potato and spoon race, the sack race, the three-legged race and a GAA shootout.
We started with the relay race. While waiting for the next activity, we played 'Capture the Treasure'. One girl is the 'Treasure Keeper' while certain girls are chosen to capture the treasure. Next was the GAA shootout. Miss Cassidy's team beat Miss Bourke's team by one point. We then went to the sack race. Lots of children loved this. We then went to the potato and spoon race. Everyone had lots of fun. Last but not least, it was time for the three-legged race. Millie and Kelsey won. What an exhausting day!
On Friday, we had the Athletic half of Sports Day! There was a parachute game, a target throw, basketball, GAA penalties, a rest station and hockey. We couldn't do the long jump, 100m race & 400m sprint due to weather conditions, unfortunately. The first thing we did was the parachute game.Sadly, they couldn't find the parachute so we played dodge ball instead.Team A won two rounds.
We then went to basketball. We shot hoops and played a match. We hurried to the GAA shootout. We had four goalkeepers. Afterwards, we went to chill out in the rest station or, (as Miss Holden called it!) the music station! We sang along to some of our favourite songs. Hockey was next. We were divided into two groups : red and yellow! The red team won. Lastly, we had the target throw. Some girls got very high scores!
We had two very exhausting days, but we loved them, even so. Thanks for reading!
