Tuesday 9th of June

9/6/2020

Good afternoon girls,

It was so lovely to see you on all Zoom again today! We were all super impressed with your fabulous creations and want to thank you all for sharing them with us. You were all so well behaved and respectful of one another so well done for that!
Picture

Next week we are asking you all to make sure arrive and are ready to rock for 10.30am SHARP! I suggest sitting down at your area at 10.20am to make sure you are all setup and have no issues with computers, microphones etc.

We are going to kick things off with a fun scavenger hunt
and you do not want to miss this!

After that, we have a really nice Draw Along activity planned.
You will need to bring:
  • Paper
  • Pencils
  • Colours

The teachers will take part in this activity too and we can all show our creations at the end.

We are super excited for this already.

Can't wait to see you all next Tuesday.

Monday June 8th

8/6/2020

Good morning lovely Ladies,

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a super weekend. The weather was a bit of a change for us on Saturday but it was nice to just chill out and not do too much. Thankfully, Sunday was a better day. I went for a long cycle and stopped for ice cream along the way ( a 99 with a flake of course!). It was very enjoyable. What did you all get up to?

So, as our very first Zoom was such a success we have planned for our next one to be TOMORROW, TUESDAY, AT 10:30 AM. We hope that we will see all of your lovely smiling faces again. This time we would like to do a show and tell with you. Bring one piece of art, well being work or craft that you have been working on at home and have few sentences ready about what you are showing us. Myself and Ms Haughton are so looking forward to chatting with you and seeing what you have all been working on at home!

If you were on the Zoom last week and your parents have given permission to be on Zoom you will get an email later today with the details.

Looking forward too seeing you!

Friday 5th of June - A Little Gift from Dogs Trust

5/6/2020

Good afternoon girls,

It was so lovely to get to see you all today on our first Zoom call!!
It really made mine and Ms. Farrell McCabes Day.

It was also so nice to see all of your furry friends too - as you know how much I love the doggies and this is what has inspired this post!
I often donate to Dogs Trust and from to help out those less fortune dogs in needs and from time to time, Dogs Trust send me some lovely messages in the post as a thank you.

The other day they sent a beautiful postcard with a mindful colouring sheet. I find colouring such a lovely way to switch off and relax and when it involves dogs - well thats just even better! I thought you girls might like to complete the colouring sheet too so I scanned it in to my computer and have attached it as a document here which you can download and print.
Enjoy and have a lovely weekend.

Thursday 4th of June

4/6/2020

Good morning girls,

I hope you are all well and having a good week so far. I can't believe it is Thursday already! Where has the week gone?

We have been busy making all of our calls this week and it has been great to catch up with you and your parents.
If you haven't heard from us yet - don't worry - we still have some calls to make so keep by the phone.

Tomorrow we will have our first Zoom Assembly together. I know we are both very excited to see all of your faces and we hope you are too. Make sure that you and your parents have read and agreed to the contract and sent a reply email to the school email address to confirm this.

See you tomorrow,

Ms. Haughton & Ms. Farrell McCabe

Hello ladies,

How are you all keeping? I hope you enjoyed the long weekend and the beautiful weather.

I had a BBQ with my parents at the weekend and it was just lovely. We also had socially distanced bingo with my neighbours! Everyone was out in their front gardens playing along - it was so much fun!

Yesterday, I took Gucci to the beach and we BOTH got in for a swim! I was like a very proud mammy watching him in the sea. He was so tired after though and slept for the day.

Did you girls get up to anything exciting? Let me know in the comments below.
Ms. Greene uploaded the new work for these two weeks this morning. You can find it here: http://www.olvgns.ie/school-closure-2020.html

You might notice that things look a little bit different. We have changed things around so now we are asking that you;
  • Complete a small bit of the three core-subjects, English, Irish and Maths, everyday
  • Complete the daily well-being task that is being set by a different teacher each day
  • Complete the daily fun activity which has been set for the whole school to do each day, so families and friends can try them out together. They will cover all the other subjects in the curriculum, but they will be suggesting fun things like visiting a museum online, doing hands-on activities etc. So, you will still be learning, but in a very different way than usual. You can find the full list for these two weeks here; http://www.olvgns.ie/june-activities-block-1.html

If you have any questions at all, leave them in the comments or send your teacher an email.

Temperatures are set to soar today so if you are outside make sure to lash on your suncream and wear a hat and t-shirt too.

Talk soon,
Ms. Haughton & Ms. Farrell McCabe
