Happy Halloween!!

Today we had our Halloween parade and party in school - even the teachers dressed up as our school football team!!

Today Room two were invited to the Botanic Gardens to get to experience a very magical experience. The Botanic Garden 'witch' showed us how to make spooky potions from very interesting and exotic plants. This was a very special treat as it was also filmed for Ireland AM!! 

Who knows, perhaps this will be the first of many times the girls from room two could appear on television?!

This week was Maths Week and we had so many fun events going on in the school to celebrate.

For our Maths lesson on Friday we took part in a Maths trail in the classrooms, on the hallways and out on yard. 
Maths Trail help us to experience maths in the real world. It showed us how we can use number in our everyday lives and how Maths surrounds us in even the most unusual areas.

Today Bricks 4 Kidz came to OLV and we had so much fun building a working see-saw. Check out our pictures below.

We had so much fun learning all about 2-D Shapes in Maths class today. We went on a shape hunt and used our iPads to take pictures of all the different shapes we found in the classroom and out in the corridors.Can you name the shapes we found?

During the month of October we are learning all about the Stone Age People.

We are learning about the homes that they built, they food that they ate and the clothes that they wore. 
Did you know that they made nappies from garden moss?

We also learned all about the Altamira Cave where the Stone Age Cave paintings were first discovered. We decided to make our own cave paintings in groups - check them out in the pictures below.

To celebrate World Animal Week 2019, we were invited along to Petmania in Santry to meet the animals and learn how to take care of them. We got to cuddle some rabbits, feed the fish, pet a bearded dragon and even hold a snake. Take a look at our pictures below.
