OH THE PLACES YOU'LL GO!!

On the 4th of November 5th class made “Our greatest ambitions!”. It was a very nice experience! The girls had lots of wonderful ideas. When everyone was finished their ambitions, we started to make the hot air balloons.

We started off by blowing up some balloons for everyone and then got lots of newspapers and ripped them into small pieces. After that we took some paste and started sticking the newspaper bits on the balloons until there were at least 3 layers.

After a week everyone got their own balloons and popped the inside of the balloon. We then got scissors and cut the balloon in a half. After that we got lots of colourful paint and started to design our very own hot air balloons! When we were finished painting our hot air balloons, we put them up outside of our classroom with our pictures.

Here are 2 examples of the ambitions that were made by 2 students:

A.S.C’s ambition:

An ambition is something you really want to achieve in the future. My greatest ambition is to be a great dancer! I always wanted to be one.

When I was a baby I always danced at any songs I heard. So then my mum thought I should go to dance classes. When I went on the first day I was really excited. I made lots of friends and loved my kind and pretty teacher. After I grew bigger my teacher had a talk with my mum and said that I should start going dancing everyday straight after school.

So I did so!

It was really fun until………… one day I moved to Ireland. I was really upset but I still texted all of my friends and watched all of the videos of us all together on YouTube.
Can’t wait to grow up and go back to my old dancing classes and keep on dancing until one day I become a very very famous dancer and maybe become a teacher!

Thank you for reading.

A.M’s ambition:

An ambition is something that you really want to achieve, like a goal.

My greatest ambition is to be a pop singer! I have been trying very hard since I was 4 years old, I still need to get better at it. If I get to be a real singer one day, it will be a dream come true!

My biggest inspiration is Meghan Trainor, she is my idol. Little Mix also inspire me, I really want to stand and sing on a stage one day, it’s just what I like to do.

Music can make someones  day from miserable to happy, at least that happens to me and I want to make other people feel like that!

Thank you very much for reading.

IRISH SOLDIERS VISIT O.L.V.

On the 5th of October O.L.V. G.N.S  had some special visitors. They were Irish soldiers from the army. They came in a green van.

While they were on there we all waited quietly in the hall for them to arrive. We waited a good while for them to come, the reason why was because they got lost. When they got lost they only realised that Ballymun was such a big place.

When they arrived all of the teachers didn’t know what door they were coming through so there was teachers running around everywhere. They came in and introduced themselves. Some girls from 5th and 6th class, read the proclamation.
They also thought that the whole proclamation was a bit long, so, when they were finished one of the soldiers read the end.

After that 2 or 3 girls from each class asked some questions.
We learned some really interesting facts from their answers like things about the flag, their uniform and lots more. #INTERESTING

Then the whole school stood up and sang Amhrán Na bhFiann. The 5th and 6th also played the tin whistle. Then two of the youngest students took the flag.

It was a day to remember.

On Friday the 5th & 6th  class went on a Ballymun tour.

We went after big break. First we stopped at the local library and everybody jumped on to the wall and Ms. Ní Riain took a picture of everyone. We then took another picture at the CDEB. We then went to the Ballymun shopping centre.

Afterwards we went to the last flats in Ballymun and Ms Haughton’s class took a selfie. We the went to Northwood and ate some yummy blackberries.

We loved our little tour.

Thank you Mrs. Shannon and all the teachers .

On Thursday our class made healthy brownies with sweet potato in them.

First we went down to the parents room and sat on chairs while our teacher got the ingredients ready.

Then we all got in a circle around the table and each got turns to help out with the ingredients.

While the brownies were in the oven we all played Chinese Whispers and Killer Blink while teacher made mint hot chocolate for us #Yum!

After a couple of minutes we got our hot chocolate and brownies. Two girls were our test eaters, the brownies were YUMMM!!

After we had our brownies and hot chocolate we cleaned up and went out to yard.

It was a really delicious treat!!!

Yours truly J.C and A.M xoxo
