On Wednesday the whole school went to the church for Catholic schools week. When we arrived we sat down in our seats and Father Frank told us a story about when he was little at his grandparents' house. His grandma asked him what sweets he would like, he said ‘I want all of them!’ His grandma said ‘ Oh no, no, no I will get in trouble.’Then his grandma reached up to the cabinet took one of the jars of sweets and opened up the jar. She said ‘Take one sweet’ and that is what he did. Then she reached up to the cabinet again and took another jar of sweets. She opened it and he took one of the sweets. Then she took the last jar of sweets down from the cabinet and he took another.
Our school choir sang some songs. Father Frank had a bowl with lots of holy water and spread holy water on everybody and some grandparents were reading prayers. The grandparents who attended the mass were welcomed to the school for tea and biscuits. After Father Frank finished the service everyone got ready to leave and we went back to the school.
