Happy Friday Ladies!
Remember it's the Friday of a Bank Holiday Weekend so you won't have to do any work
after today until next Tuesday!🎉 Enjoy this break and use it as an opportunity to recharge the batteries so that come Tuesday morning you're ready to face into the last month of your distance learning before the summer holidays!🙌🏽

Don't forget that today you have your first Class Zoom Meeting with your teacher at 10.30am. Please make your that you have eaten your breakfast and have set yourself up in an area that is nice and quiet so that you are not interrupted during the lesson. As Ms.Farrell requested yesterday, please have the first page of the booklet filled in beforehand. We are both looking forward to having our own class back together! Remember you must adhere to the rules of the Zoom meeting as set out by Ms. Greene. We want to report back to her good feedback so that we can continue to see you all every week!

As a little thank you from us both for all the effort you are putting into your Distance Learning and the Mission Transition Programme we are rewarding you with a Home Cinema Pass which you can use any day from today onwards! Tell your mum or dad that we have given you permission to put your feet up, relax with a bag of popcorn and to put on your favourite film! Enjoy!
Let us know which one you choose!

Looking forward to seeing you at 10.30am!
Ms. Cassidy & Ms. Farrell

HAPPY THURSDAY GIRLS!

Well it's another beautiful morning so I'm going to make sure I get working hard on my to-do list
this morning so that I can spend the rest of the day enjoying that gorgeous sunshine. It's meant to be very hot today so if you're heading outside make sure you put your sun protection on 👍

Remember to kindly ask your parents to check their emails for the invitation to our zoom meeting tomorrow. It will be held tomorrow Friday 29th at 10.30am. Remember girls, you do not have permission to send or share details (Meeting ID & Password) to anyone even others girls in your class.

Myself and Ms. Cassidy are really looking forward to seeing all of you and starting our Mission Transition Programme. Could you please take a look at the first page of your booklet (you received in the post) and fill that in before tomorrow's zoom as this will save us time and we will be able to have more time to discuss it 😃 I have uploaded the page below in case you are confused.

Also be sure to take a look at Ms. Smith's lovely daily task for today in the Wellbeing section.

Missing you always,

Ms. Farrell & Ms. Cassidy

Good morning ladies,

I hope that you are all well and enjoying the sunshine and making the most of this glorious weather. Yesterday evening, Ms. Farrell and I had our Zoom Book Club meeting with other staff members of OLV GNS.📚 It was great to hear everyones different insights, questions and thoughts about the story. Being a member of a book club really motivates me to read a book 'properly' as I know that I too will have to give my own review of the book.

I really enjoyed Ms. Farrell's 'Daily Task' yesterday. It got me thinking about how easy it is to give a compliment to another person and also how lovely it is to receive one! I have to compliment Ms. Farrell and thank her for all the help she gives me every day during school and outside of school hours. She is always there to assist me in any way and always with a smile.😇
I'm so lucky that I get to call her my 'Work Wife' 💐

Please tell your parents that they will be receiving an email today with the details of our next 6th Class Zoom Meeting. It will be held this Friday 29th at 10.30am. Remember girls, you do not have permission to send or share details (Meeting ID & Password) to anyone even others girls in your class.

Did you watch Ms. Greene's Blog video yesterday? www.olvgns.ie/ms-greenes-blog She is encouraging all the girls and parents of OLV GNS to wear blue on Sunday and 'Walk for Niall'. Niall is Ms. Durnin's husband. He fell ill in December and is finally coming home from a rehabilitation centre in June to Ms. Dornin and their family. We wish him continued success with his journey to returning to full health.

Bíodh lá deas agaibh,
Ms. Cassidy and Ms. Farrell

GOOD MORNING GIRLS 👋 👋 👋

I hope you all had a lovely start to the week! The weather yesterday was glorious and it is set to continue for the week ahead which is great news. I hope you all remembered to put on your sunscreen, I've seen a few red noses around the place 😂
I was in the school yesterday with Ms. Cassidy as we had to sort out a few documents for you girls in your transition to secondary school - the place isn't the same without you! There is finally a new smartboard in room 6, I really hope I get to keep that classroom next year, say a prayer for me ladies.   I have posted today's daily well-being task so make sure you give it a look here 👉 Daily Task

Good morning ladies,
I hope that you all had a lovely and relaxing weekend. I enjoyed going for a cycle 🚴🏿‍ (within the permitted 5km radius) and I got stuck in to a new book📚. My sister, downloaded it too. Even though we can't meet up to see each other it's a nice way of keeping in touch and it gives us something to chat about over the phone.

It's hard to believe that Monday is here once more! Let's start off on the right foot today so that we can have a productive week. You will notice that our Padlet page has been updated:
padlet.com/gemmaolvgns/fv3m5u5awsby
Please start your work today by correcting your maths sums from last week.
Any questions or queries, as always, you can contact us via email:

Finally myself and Ms. Farrell would like to thank you all for your great behaviour and fantastic manners during our assembly Zoom call with Ms. Greene on Friday. 👏 It was a historic moment, the first OLV GNS assembly to be held online...EVER! What an interesting time we are living in! Your co-operation and good manners means that we can now proceed this week with our Mission Transition Zoom calls. You will receive an email about the time and date of our next Zoom call during the week. Remember, we expect all girls to adhere to the rules set out by Ms. Greene during every Zoom call. We know you won't let us down.👍

Happy Friday girls! 🌸

Today is a very special Friday because it's our very first zoom call with you girls! Myself and Ms. Cassidy are so looking forward to seeing all your beautiful smiling faces (be sure you bring them with you 😁) Make sure you are ready to go at 10:30am and have a read of the rules of the contract Ms. Greene has sent to your parents, they are very important for these calls to work. If any of your parents are yet to respond to Ms. Greene's email make sure you get in touch so that we can have you in the next meeting.

Ms. Greene is posting a fabulous task for you girls to complete over the weekend. Make sure you take a look at her blog post today. It's a competition for students and teachers so I'll be sure to be taking part too!

Also don't forget to take a look at Ms. O'Dea's daily wellbeing task for today. During this time it's so important to be kind to ourselves so make sure you take time every day to do something that relaxes you and makes you feel good 👍

PS: Remember to sign in below 💛

See you later,
Ms. Farrell & Ms. Cassidy

 Good morning girls,
It's Thursday! Which means only one thing....tomorrow is Friday!🎉 Did you enjoy the sunshine yesterday? I sat out and read my book to get some Vitamin D (I frequently topped up my sun cream!) and in the evening I cooked a yummy BBQ!

I hope that you all have told your parent(s) to respond to the email which Ms. Greene sent them? That way we can arrange our first 6th Class Zoom call! Ms. Farrell and I are so excited about it as we will once more get to all be together!🤗

Who checked out Ms. Farrell's Wellbeing post yesterday? She has inspired me to start yoga too! I found it so relaxing and if anything it made me nice and sleepy going to bed last night.

Yesterday evening, as I was reading outside, two foxes ran past me! I got such a surprise when I saw them! They passed no heed of me and went off on their business! I have read that since lock-down began there has never been as many sightings of foxes especially in the cities! They are roaming the quiet streets. Have you seen any? There has also been a number of unusual animal sightings reported in cities around the world. In Wales, a flock of sheep were spotted peering into a shuttered McDonalds, while another town was taken over by a herd of wild Kashmiri goats!

I'm getting ready here to go to school to collect and deliver the food boxes. I'm looking forward to seeing so many of you! It's fast becoming my favourite day of the week.
Have a lovely day girls,
Ms. Cassidy & Ms. Farrell

HAPPY WEDNESDAY GIRLS!!

Well it's midway through the week now - which means we're that much closer to the weekend 🥳
Look at that beautiful weather outside today, it's glorious! So I have two tasks for you today...

1) Make sure you get your parents to check their emails for a very important email from the school 👀
If your parents have yet to fill in the parent survey make sure they fill it in because if not, the school doesn't have an email address to contact you with.

2) Make sure you get outside for some vitamin D and fresh air ☀️☀️☀️  Now make sure you have your  sunscreen on in that weather because we don't want any of you damaging that beautiful young skin of yours. We make sure to wear ours every day. Also make sure you are still respecting the social distancing rules and remember to keep a distance of  2metres between yourself and others when you are out and about within your 5km.

Good morning girls,
One of my very earliest memories is that of my grandmother pointing out and teaching me the names of the different birds in her back garden. She taught me how to identity the most common Irish birds. These are the robins, sparrows, blackbirds, thrushes, finches (green, gold, chaff and bull), tits (blue, great and coal), wagtails, magpies, pigeons, crows, starlings and wrens.

With all our outings cancelled for the foreseeable future why not take part in our 'Stay at Home Bird Watch Challenge'. This fun event takes place from the safety of your own home. This is an event in which all the family can take part in and is a great opportunity to look at the birds around you, brush up on your bird identification skills and maybe learn to identify new ones.  Enjoy the birds that visit where you live and get to know the different species by their colours, size and habits.

Which bird will be the most frequent visitor to your garden?
Remember to tally your count and if you wish you can display your results on a bar chart.

Send us your results by this Friday (21st May) by emailing your 'Bird Watch Challenge' to
[email protected]
or
[email protected]

For more information about Irish birds visit: https://birdwatchireland.ie/irelands-birds-birdwatch-ireland/garden-birds/

Remember to sign in below email us if you have any questions or queries.
