Good morning ladies,

Do you realize you're living through a moment of history? People will look back on this and wonder how people got through it. You could fill in the blanks for some future researcher. Just a description of your everyday activities, what you're thinking and feeling, your hopes and dreams- all of it has historical value. Plus, you'll get some practice expressing yourself in writing. And just think- a simple story about how you survived the great toilet paper shortage of 2020 could end up being taught in the classrooms of the future! This is what I'm going to do today. When you're at a loose end, twiddling your thumbs with nothing to do you might think of this simple activity. Who knows, on return to school if we have enough diary entries we could make them into a book to be read by all the future students of our school!

Have a lovely day girls,
Ms. Cassidy & Ms. Farrell

Dia daoibh go léir!

We are midway through the week and I thought I'd share this little quote with you I found yesterday...
"Don't let what you can't do, stop you from doing what you can do"

So if you're feeling a little upset or frustrated at the minute try to focus on the positives. Look at what you can do during this time instead of focusing on what you can't. Easier said than done I admit but give it a try today!

Every evening I like to make a little to-do list to keep me focused for the following day. I get a great feeling ticking off every task as I go and if I don't complete something I put it on my list for the following day. Put the smallest of tasks on it, like making your bed, logging onto the school website or eating your breakfast and that way you'll feel like you've accomplished a lot by the end of the day. It's a great way to stay motivated. Have a look at the weather forecast before you make it so you can include outdoor activities too!

We have had a great response to the roll call so far but we still haven't heard from everyone yet so if you are in contact with any of the other girls in the class please remind them to fill in their name every day. As Ms. Cassidy said please log in every day and make it a part of your daily work routine. We would love to see the 6th class girls winning the
BEST ATTENDANCE AWARD  🏆

Please comment below with your FULL name once you have read this and don't forget to click submit!

Remember, Jackie will announce the winner on Friday!

Good morning ladies,
Conás atá gach duine? Tá súil agam go bhfuil sibh go maith!?
I have read a lot of books since we last saw each other. Did you know that Ms. Farrell and I are members of a book club? I love to read as it transports me into a different world and it passes time when I find myself with nothing to do.  What books have you read since we last saw you? With libraries now shut, I know it's hard to get your hands on a book so I will attach a few links to websites that provide free access to books and audio stories.
1)  https://www.librariesireland.ie/
2) https://stories.audible.com/discovery
3) https://childrensbooksireland.ie/

When you have time, have a browse through the websites and let us know which book or podcast you have chosen! As always, we would love to hear from you all.
Take care and keep washing your hands!
Ms. Cassidy

Good morning girls,
I hope that you are all well and rested after the weekend. I had a very productive one. As you can see from the picture below, I made my very first sponge cake! I am very proud of myself! It tasted delicious. Did anyone else bake over the weekend?
I also started listening to a new podcast which I am really enjoying. It takes my mind off everything and my walk goes by super quick.  Speaking of exercise, I am delighted to be tagged by Ms. Farrell to walk or run a 5k for charity. I too will be donating to Cystic Fibrosis.
Don't forget to log into the 'Leabhar Rolla' section below and let us know how your weekend went.
Missing you all,
Ms. Cassidy

Maidin mhaith agaibh!

Happy Friday girls! I definitely have a Friday Feeling!! Anyone else??
I had a great day yesterday as I got the opportunity to deliver food packages to many of your homes. It was lovely to catch up with you all (we kept our two metres apart and adhered to all social distancing guidelines.) I noticed that so many of you have got taller since I saw you last! I was very envious of a few girls who have picked up a lovely suntan. The secret? Lots of walks and playing in the garden. I heard lots of praise from your parents - girls helping around the house, cleaning, cooking and looking after siblings. That made me super proud!:) Please continue with all these wonderful acts of kindness! My act of kindness today will be to ring my aunts who are cocooning. They miss their children and grandchildren terribly so I'm going to ring them to check in and make them laugh. We all have to help each other during this time. I'm going to do something nice today for myself too by baking a sponge cake! All going well, I will post a picture of it on Monday morning. Wish me luck!

Please let Ms. Farrell and I know what you are planning to do over the weekend. We would, as always, love to hear from you all!
Missing you all,
Ms. Cassidy

Good morning girls!
How are you all doing today?

Once again we’ve been lucky to have a bright start to the day so if you are able to safely get outside for a bit of fresh air, please do! I make sure that every day I get outside for a walk, even if it’s just for a half an hour before my dinner. It puts me in a great mood (which my family are thankful for) but do remember to practice social distancing and be aware of those around you.

We would love to hear about what you’ve been up to at home during this time. Have you taken up a new hobby or learned a new skill? Is there something you are really enjoying? Have you tried out any of the at home science experiments we set or learned any interesting facts about Ancient Greece?

We are missing you girls so much! Please comment below to let us know you have seen this post ️😊

Happy Easter

Hello to our wonderful 6th class girls!

This is just a quick note to say Happy Easter to you all. We know these are difficult times for you but we have been so impressed with all the work you have been doing, it shows great maturity ladies. We are sure that you've been helping out at home and most importantly we hope you have been staying at home and following the rules that our Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, has set out for us. We know it's not easy but you are part of an important piece of history and in years to come you will want to be able to say that you did your best - so stay at home, stay safe and keep washing those hands just like we showed you in school.

In another life, today would have been the start of our Easter break. You all have worked so hard over these past few weeks and as such, you deserve a break and we will not be setting any more work for over the holidays. We are missing all of you dearly and cannot wait to see all your smiling faces again soon! If you are stuck for things to do over the break, Ms. Greene has posted lots of resources that may spark your interest! Please continue to send us your messages we would love to hear any news you have for us or just to say hi, we'd love to hear from you!

Beannachtaí na Cásca ort! Happy Easter! 🐰💛🌼
