Roots of Empathy in Room 3

18/12/2019

4th Class in Room 3 have been really enjoying the Roots of Empathy program. On 12th December, we had a visit from our baby Riain. He was wearing his Christmas best, and both of his parents came to visit us this time. The girls were delighted to meet Rian's dad Steve!

The girls could see how much Riain had grown, and how much more hair he had! The girls asked lots of questions about how he was growing and changing, and we learned that Riain had started to have some food! That week he had tried carrots and avocado for the first time! He was also finding it much easier to do roly-poly with his mam Martina, and was getting really good at sitting up by himself for a few seconds.

Martina and Steve told us all about Riain's favourite games to play. Steve showed us how they play Dinosaurs together. The girls could tell that Riain really liked this because of how much he was laughing and smiling! We discussed how the way that babies show their feelings might be different to how older children and adults show theirs.

4th Class and Jackie gave Riain and his family a Christmas card and some presents, and Martina and Steve gave the girls a lovely Christmas decoration for the classroom. We hope they all have a lovely Christmas and can't wait to see them again in the New Year!

The festive season is upon us once again and we have been very busy!

4th Classes have been preparing for our Christmas show, we hope you enjoy our poem 'Fear Sneachta' and our dance to Walking in a Winter Wonderland! Laila and Mia are reciting the poem 'Too Excited' by Chris Massey. The poem just sums up how we are all feeling at the moment, including our teachers!

We went to the Panto in the Helix, we saw 'The Three Musketeers'. It was so funny, it was all about girl-power and there was even a little dog, Bradley, in it! He was so cute!

We also went to St. Mary's Secondary school to see their rendition of High School Musical! Was really cool to see where a lot of us are heading for secondary school and we even saw some past pupils!

4th Classes have been working hard on creating and constructing Christmas constructions, Christmas Wonderlands or Winter Wonderlands. Ms Behan and Ms Smith would like to thank all Mammies, Daddies, Guardians, brothers and sisters that helped the girls with their art! The whole school are SO impressed with them and the girls should be proud of their fantastic work!

Ms Smith and Ms Behan would like to say Seasons Greeting and wish all the girls and their families a very happy and peaceful Christmas and a happy New Year!

Nollaig shona daoibh go léir!
