It was a wonderful way to demonstrate our love for all things to do with reading! The class enjoyed the challenge and showed off their costumes in the halla at a special assembly. Our teacher even got on board.... can you guess who she is supposed to be?!
We had another treat on Wednesday 8th March. Trinity Comprehensive invited our class to see the exhibition of sports projects from all over the country which was on display there. Not only did we view the projects but we participated in a scavenger hunt in teams in the hall! There were medals for the winning teams! We also got to try out some basic judo with the expert on hand. What a great day!

]]><![CDATA[Laudate festival]]>Sun, 12 Feb 2017 18:18:00 GMThttp://www.olvgns.ie/4th-class-2016/laudate-festivalOn Tuesday 31st January 2017 our class joined Ms. Callinan's 5th class and the boys' choir from OLV to celebrate the Laudate Festival in Our Lady of Victories Church. The aim of this special evening was to establish a core set of hymns that both children and parishioners would enjoy and be able to sing together. We practised for some months prior to the night itself,and so we were able to sing our hearts out during the performance! We sang 18 songs in total!! Here are some photos of us as we prepare to join all the other schools in a wonderful celebration.

Along with Ms. Ferriter and Ms. Crowe we took Dublin Bus into town to visit The National Museum of Ireland and the Natural History Museum. Brendan, our bus driver, dropped us off on Kildare Street...right at the door of our first museum!
We saw artefacts from the Bronze Age, the Celts and the Vikings. We also saw some Ancient Egyptian remains! After a hearty lunch in the nearby park (and a play on the swings!) we moved on to examine the "stuffed animals" in the Natural History Museum. We couldn't believe the array of wildlife on display. Once we had completed our quiz it was time to return to school. We hope you enjoy the pictures of our excursion!

It was a fantastic performance which even had our teacher up dancing in the end! We thoroughly enjoyed our day.
