Oliver Twist!
Oliver Twist-A Review
Characters: Oliver Twist, Mr Bumble , Mr Fagen , Bill , Doger and Nancy
Author: Charles Dickens
Plot: Oliver’ s mam dies and then Doger takes him to a hideout . Oliver meets his grandfather and he sends Oliver out to change some books. Nancy takes him but then feels bad so then she tried to meet Oliver’s grandfather but he never comes. So Nancy brought Oliver to his grandfather’s house.
My opinion: I thought that the man who was singing “food glorious food” could be a bit quieter!
What I liked about Oliver Twist: I think the best bit is when the parrot goes “ Nancy, Nancy, the girl I fancy!”

Dogs Trust-Jake's visit!
Fiona and Jake visited O.L.V today. It was a great surprise! Fiona, Jake's owner, told us all about Jake and how to care for him. She told us how to approach a dog we do not know using the WALT system, and reminded us never to pet a dog without it's owners permission.

International Cake Day 2013
International Cake Day was held in the Our Lady of Victories schools on the 15th May 2013. It was a day of fun, international music, dance, and of course...cake! The hall was filled with delicious cakes and desserts baked by the parents and children of OLV Infants', Girls' and Boys' schools from traditional recipes from lands far and near. The day celebrated the wonderful cultures we are so lucky to know and love in our three schools. Well done to everyone involved in the wonderful day on a fantastic job!
My Fake Cakes!
The international cake day was held in the school on the fifteenth of May 2013. I made one chocolate square cake, one wedding cake and seventeen small little cupcakes. This took me a few weeks .I made these with Mrs. Brennan the Resource teacher.
I used lots of ingredients like icing sugar, chocolate, cardboard boxes, tissue, glue and food colouring.
I made the cupcakes first, then the wedding cake. The wedding cake took a long time because it had three tiers . My fake wedding cake, my fake chocolate cake and my fake cupcakes all looked really real and every pupil in the school wanted to eat them!
It was really great fun and I enjoyed making them especially licking the chocolate bowl. YUM! YUM!

St. Patrick's Day Art
The 6th Class worked very hard with the very talented Nieves to create the beautiful St. Patrick wall hangings. All their hard work paid off, and we're sure that the spectacular wall hangings will decorate O.L.V walls for many years to come!
